SOS Children’s Villages Tanzania is an indigenous non government organization affiliated to SOS Children’s Villages International, a worldwide child care organization that provides orphaned and destitute children with a permanent home and educational opportunities. Established 60 years ago, SOS Children’s Villages International the umbrella organization, currently has Children’s Villages and other projects in 135 countries around the world.  Globally, it runs the SOS Children’s Village Programs which has two main arms, i.e. Family Based Care based at SOS Children’s Villages and Family Strengthening Programmes supporting families in local communities. SOS has been working in the United Republic of Tanzania since 1991, and runs three Children’s Villages in Arusha, Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar and a Family Strengthening Programme in Mwanza. Due to expansion of its existing programmes and opening up of the new Village in Mwanza; SOS Children’s Villages Tanzania seeks to recruit suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacancies:
Job title: Fundraising & Communication Officer
Duty station: National Office Dar es Salaam (1post)
Reporting to: Project Manager (Global Leadership Giving Campaign)
Roles & Responsibilities
§  Identify and secure funding from internal & external sponsors / foundations
§  Assist the Project Manager in the development and implementation of fund development strategy within SOS Children’s Village Tanzania.   
§  Prepare and submit  the proposals for acquisition of the grants/funds within required standards/ frames
§  Maintain communications with the public, media & private sector for SOS Children’s Villages resource mobilization.
Academic Qualification, skills & Experiences:
§  A Bachelor degree on Project Management / Development studies or any  related fields from recognized university
§  Strong background in proposal development and donor negotiation skills with good track record of awarded proposals
§  Previous proven professional fundraising skills and experience for NGOs, CSOs, public or private sector           
§  Three years’ experience of government donor relations and knowledge of funding requirements, particularly with donor agencies
§  Excellent ability to work cross-organizationally with multiple stakeholders in realization of shared goals
§  Able to share passion for and knowledge of donor engagement and grant acquisition strategies and techniques through training and/or mentoring
§  Proactive, inquisitive and determined in identifying and pursuing new grant funding opportunities.
§  Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and public relations skills.
§  Highest levels of accuracy and professionalism, flexibility to accommodate frequent travels
Job title:                Program Manager
Duty station:        SOS Children’s Village Mwanza  ( 1 post)
Reporting to:       National Director
Roles & Responsibilities
§  Directs and co-ordinates all projects/ programs of SOS Children’s Villages Programs in Mwanza.
§  Builds and develops a committed and effective staff team to support sustainable implementation of programs
§  Ensures that programs resources are used appropriately & efficiently.
§  Lead building and strengthening partnership with government, Civil Society Organizations, private sector and communities to ensure vulnerable children receive quality care, education and health.
§  He is overall in charge of all programs in   Mwanza.
§  Responsible for program proposals
§  Leads the implementation of the programme management cycle in Mwanza.
§  Provide strategic leadership in fundraising and resource mobilization in Mwanza
§  Responsible for preparation and submission of implementation progress narrative reports, management reports submitted to donors, management, Board of Trustees and other stakeholders.
Academic Qualifications and Work Experience
·         A postgraduate degree in any of the following disciplines: Development studies, Project Management, Organizational Management, Children and Youth Care programming &Sociology.;
·         Strong background on programming and  projects management
·         Strong background in proposal development and donor negotiation skills Strong, leadership and interpersonal skills and group dynamics management skills
·         Working experiences should include at least 3 years progressive work at key positions (in management) in a stretching modern working environment preferably in NGO.
·         Experience in managing donor projects
·         A mature person (male or female) aged 30-40 years
Job title:                Administrative cum HR  Officer
Duty station:        SOS Children’s Village Mwanza  ( 1 post)
Reporting to:       Program Manager
Some of the Duties and Responsibilities:
§  He/she is charge all administration issues of Mwanza Program
§  He/she is responsible for HR management for program Mwanza
§  Managing the day-to-day operations of the Mwanza Program
§  Planning and scheduling external meetings and appointments for the Program Director.
§  He/she is in charge of logistics for Mwanza program
.
Academic Qualifications and Work Experience.
§  Degree in Public Administration, Social Sciences or its equivalent.
§  At least three year of relevant professional experience, demonstrated by solid competencies in the field of office administration, secretarial and basic accounting.
§  Ability to work independently, self-organize, use initiative, keep commitments and meet deadlines.
§  Good written and verbal communication skills both in English and Swahili, ability to communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
§  Computer literacy
Job title:                Assistant Accountant
Duty station:        SOS Children’s Village Mwanza  ( 1 post)
Reporting to:       Accountant
Roles & Responsibilities
§  Assist the accountant on the preparation of the annual budget for Mwanza program.
§  Assist the Accountant in Managing the Organization’s funds and make sure the organization  runs according to financial budget frame
§  Design and implement internal controls mechanism to ensure there is robust Financial Internal Control System
§  Ensure that all financial transactions (including grant disbursement and date are correctly implemented according to policies and procedures.
§  Ensures all funds are properly controlled and that all administrative and financial procedures are followed.
Academic Qualification and Experiences.
§  University graduate in Finance Management or Accounting field
§  CPA/ACCA qualified will be added advantage
§  Minimum 3 years’ experience as Accountant in a busy environment (preferably with an NGO).
§  Experience in managing Funds of Multilateral donors.
Job title:                Family Based Care (FBC) Coordinator
Duty station:        SOS Children’s Village Mwanza (1 post)
Reporting to:       Program  Manager
Roles & Responsibilities
§  Providing strong effective leadership to the affairs of the Children’s Village.
§  Supporting the children, youth, and SOS mothers for emotional and physical development.
§  Managing the CV program
§  Representing the Village in the local community, creating local networks that support the Children’s Village program.
§  Being a role model for the children, youth and mothers.
§  This candidate should have knowledge and skills on partnership building with various take holders such as Government officials, NGOs, FBOs as well as with the private sector
§  He/she should be able to write the project proposals in order to enhance resource mobilization in the village
§  A working knowledge on HR and performance management
Academic Qualification and Experiences
§  Degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Guidance and Counselling, Development studies or its equivalent.
§  At least three year of relevant professional experience at management level especially in NGO.
§  Three (3) years’ experience in working with children/youth.
§  The candidate should possess the emotional stability to lead and guide the large community of children and youth, by maintaining the required high standards.
§  A stable social and emotional family situation.

Job title:                Sponsorship Assistant
Duty station:        SOS Children’s Village Mwanza (1 post)
Reporting to:       Family Based Care Manager
§  Co-ordinates sponsorship activities within the village.
§  Works with SOS mothers, Village Educator/Counsellor for children information on children and works with all the facility
§  He/She a conduct person for sponsorship issue in Mwanza
§  He/She support the FBC Manager in preparing reports for sponsors.
§  Ensures that all children information meets the sponsorship requirements.
§  Ensures that parcels and correspondence are distributed to children as per sponsorship standards.
§  Acts as a host to sponsors who visit the SOS village in Mwanza program
Academic Qualification and Experiences
§  Diploma in Communications/Public Relation/social sciences field from any recognized college/institutions
§  Three years of work experience in sponsorship works on  children/youth specifically NGO working environment
§  Empathy and interest in working with children /youth
§  Stable and mature personality, good listener, patient and understanding;

Job Title: Village Handyman
Duty station: SOS Children’s Village Mwanza
Reporting to: Administrator
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
§  H/she overall in charge for maintenance of the village
§  Maintains and repairs water and sewage installations including drains, pipelines, water mains, sewage plant
§  Prepares and implements a schedule of preventive maintenance tasks for the program in Mwanza
§  Ensures the safety of all equipment, particularly in children’s play areas and within the family houses
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
§  CSEE and Certificate in full Technician from any recognized VETA colleges / institutions
§  Good knowledge and experience on masonry, plumbing and electricity.
§  Fluent in  English and Swahili

§  Ensures the Safety of the car, staff and their properties
§  Maintains the Safety and Security of the Vehicles

Job Title: Youth Care Co- Worker Girls
Duty station: Dar es Salaam (1post)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
§  Guide the personal development of youth living in the youth home
§  Guide the educational and career development of youth
§  Support the SOS mothers with the youth in their SOS family homes
§  Promotes Community Service and Integration
§  Design & implement youth program and Coordinates Youth Activity Programs
§  Guide the youth in their transition from SOS program to their community life.
